Ed Sheeran to Sponsor Ipswich Town Football Club Shirts

Ed Sheeran is named as the new sponsor for Ipswich Town Football Club shirts. The music star lives in Suffolk and is a fan of the Tractor Boys.

Sheeran has signed a one year deal to sponsor the shirts of both the men’s and women’s first teams.

There is some mystery surrounding the logo on the shirts, which features mathematical symbols and the word “tour”. When asked what it means, he replied, “all will be revealed in time.”

The football club is a big part of the local community and this is Sheeran’s way of showing his support. He has always enjoyed trips to Portman Road and looks forward to going back when supporters are allowed in stadiums again.

There are exciting times ahead for Ipswich fans, including Sheeran, as the football club has new owners coming in from the US.

Supporting Ipswich and Suffolk

Sheeran grew up in Suffolk and has a long-standing affinity with Ipswich and the county in general.

The singer’s record-breaking Divide tour in August 2019 ended in front of 160,000 people over four nights at Chantry Park in Ipswich. A special Ipswich Town shirt sold to mark the event.

The pop star made a significant donation to a children’s ward at Ipswich Hospital last year.

Ipswich Town are thrilled that he has agreed to become their shirt sponsor next season. He has been present at many games and shown a lot of support for his hometown in many ways. The shirt sponsorship is another example of that.

The news will please a lot of people as the club’s previous sponsorship with Magical Vegas received angry reactions from fans who opposed a deal with a betting firm. The company announced last year they would no longer feature on the club shirts. Carers Trust Charity appeared in their place instead, as sponsorship had been gifted to them.
