Following a confirmed sighting of the Oxford University student, police have started combing Epping Forest and are conducting door to door enquiries. Latest investigations prove that Okorogheye took a taxi from the W2 area of London to a residential address in Loughton.

CCTV footage shows Richard Okorogheye walking along smarts lane, Loughton at 12.39am on Tuesday 23rd March. He is walking alone, and in the direction of Epping Forest.

The 19 year old left his home on the 22nd March at 8.30pm. Two days later his mum reported him missing. Richard then boarded a number 23 bus, going southbound from Ladbroke Grove, at around 8.44pm.

Medical concerns for missing London student.

Mr Okorogheye has sickle cell disease, a serious and lifelong condition affecting red blood cells. This condition required Mr Okorogheye to be placed on the shielding list, only leaving the house to attend blood transfusions at the hospital. Ms Joel confirmed he has been struggling to cope with the pressures of university and shieling during lockdown.

Richard left the house without money, a jacket or his medication. A fact his mother, Ms Joel, finds out of character. Instead he left the house wearing an all black outfit, with a black Adidas bag, across the his lower back.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicki Beecher:

It has no been nine days since Richard was last seen in person and we remain as commited as ever to locating him and bringing him home to his family.

Our officers are working extremely hard to piece together the facts in order to build a picture of Richard’s movements on the evening of Monday 22 March.

Latest information suggests he was last seen in Loughton in Essex and we are now focusing our attention here.
