It has been seventeen years since Friends ended. Viewers around the world cried with the cast as they closed the door to Monica’s apartment for the last time. Last week the Friends reunion finished filming: The One With The Reunion.
The special one off brings together all six of the original cast. Matthew Perry as Chandler, Courtney Cox as Monica, Jennifer Anniston as Rachel, Lisa Kudrow as Phoebe, Matt Le Blanc as Joey and David Schwimmer as Ross.
What do we know about the Friends Reunion?
The short answer – very little. The friends cast and crew have remained tight lipped since the reunion was announced. There are a few things, however, that have slipped through the net.

The fountain, featured in the opening titles of the series, will be featured. Social media has circulated images of props from Monica’s much loved apartment, including the sofa and picture frame on the door. - The may be a cast reading
The Friends cast are great at seemingly giving away details, until they don’t. In an interview with Graham Norton, David Schwimmer confirmed he would be himself rather than character Ross. He cryptically added “But there is one section, I don’t want to give it away, where we all read something”
David may appear confusing, but Jennifer Anniston is even more so. Talking to Variety magazine, she added “I am not Rachel, although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really. But yeah.” - There was a live audience.
The original Friends show was recorded in front a live audience, so its only right this one is too. These were mostly union extras, Covid tested and specifically hired for the gig. The audience members were treated to perks, similar to those of Friends Fest. This included a bag from Central Perk, the coffee shop the Friends frequented often in the series.
The reunion was due to be filmed in August but was delayed due to Covid restrictions. It will stream on HBO in upcoming months, although a date is to be confirmed.
The original cast are executive producers of the reunion, along with show producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane. Ben Winston returns as the director.
