Mark Wahlberg is eating 7,000 calories a day for his new role

The star of No Pain, No Gain and Transformers is known for his extreme attitude to diet and exercise. In 2018, his post went viral after sharing his gruelling routine. A routine which involves waking up at 2.30am and using a cryo chamber to achieve his peak condition. His new routine is no less extreme, with Mark waking at 3am in order to eat his first breakfast.

Mark has shown the world his weigh gain via his Instagram page, thanking chef Lawrence Duran for his new heavier look. Mr Duran insists the weight gain is healthy being caused by over eating, rather than what he is eating. Mark must eat multiple snacks and meals a day to hit his target of 7,000 calories a day.

Mark sees a specialist every two weeks in order to monitor his progress and adjust the plan as necessary. Lawrence told US media outlets that he is eating good carbohydrates, dark greens, a dozen eggs and a variety of different proteins. However, even for a professional like Mark, eating 7,000 calories a day is difficult.

Mark Wahlberg is not the only celebrity showing off their changing body

Mark Wahlberg may be gaining weight for a role, but he is not the only celebrity showing off their changing body.

Will Smith recently shared an image of him in his boxers. The image, which has been hailed by fans as brave, shows he has gained weight. The actor admits he is “in the worst shape of his life” and is working on improving his health. However, he praises his body for getting him through the pandemic.

Celebrities are not only gaining weight, but losing it throughout the pandemic. In May 2020, Ayesha Curry reveals she lost 35 pounds throughout the Covid quarantine. She admits the weight loss has to be on her terms “to fit into her life rather than take away from it”.

The son of action man Arnold Schwarzenegger, Patrick, took to Instagram to show his weight loss. He states the 50 day plan helps “give the brain a literal GPS to work towards. The biggest mistake is thinking it will happen overnight, these things take time”.
